Over a relatively short space of time economies and labour markets across the world have been subject to a number of crises and disruptions including, but not limited to, the financial crisis, COVID-19, the war in Ukraine, climate change, and the diffusion of artificial intelligence. Some commentators suggest we are experiencing a period of permacrisis. All this complicates the process of predicting the future demand for skills.
